No blueprints, no awkward office sit downs. We like to meet our clients before we meet their project and we like you to meet us. The project as well as our standard operating procedures will definitely be a topic at this meeting, but not the focus. We want to build a relationship. This is one of the most important decisions of your life and we would love to be a part of it but, if you don’t think we are the right fit, we want you to find that out early and not feel trapped.

This is where we do a deep dive into the project. Typically you can plan on a couple of hours for this meeting as well as a post meeting site visit if possible. We will review the plans in detail with you and possibly the architect. Page by page we will get a good idea of your taste, the level of products you are looking for in different areas, where you might splurge, where you might save, etc. We use all that info to build a custom budget for you which will also serve as the basis for our fee. If further editing and review of the budget are needed to move forward, no problem.

It’s official… We’ve had coffee, you have endured hours of combing through plans, you have signed off on a budget, you probably need something stiffer than a coffee at this point, but we are ready to roll! Now we will begin gathering quotes (outside of specialty items that would have been necessary to quote for budget creation), drafting schedules, permitting the project and preparing client deliverables checklists. There’s still a bit of leg work before we break ground, but it definitely starts to feel real.

Get Excited! This is the fun part. Everything you’ve imagined will start to take shape. It can be dull at times. Construction is a series of low reward periods that take time but don’t seem to move the needle coupled with periods of “wow, it’s really coming together.” While we handle the dull periods, you will be enjoying pinterest boards, meetings with cabinet and appliance companies, picking up paint swatches, and all the fun stuff that comes with custom home building. As the project moves along, we will guide you through every step of the way.
